Norfolk status
Local.
Fens, marshes and othe wet areas.
Much less distinct markings than most other Phyllonorycter species.

Leaf-mine: June-July: September - October
Mine is usually on smooth leaved willows.

Leafmines on long-leaved Salix other than Osier Willow (S. viminalis) will almost certainly be P. viminiella.
Mines on Osier Willow (Salix viminalis) could be Phyllonorycter viminiella or P. viminetorum. The pupa of P. viminetorum is without a cocoon. P. viminiella has a tough pale brown cocoon. - JRL

Please make note in record comments.

Verification Grade Comment: Mine: R if foodplant S. viminalis cremaster must be examined.
