Leafmines on long-leaved Salix other than Osier Willow (S. viminalis) will almost certainly be P. viminiella. Mines on Osier Willow (Salix viminalis) could be Phyllonorycter viminiella or P. viminetorum. The pupa of P. viminetorum is without a cocoon. P. viminiella has a tough pale brown cocoon. - JRL
