Added to the British list in 1970.

Recent record of a mine found near Suffield in 2013 (bred K. Saul, Gen. Det. D. Hipperson)

Please rear through potential mines and obtain determination on this species.
Adult moths are similar to P. salicicolella and weakly marked specimens resemble P. viminella (=salictella).

Leaf-mine: July, September - October
Large lower surface mine, causing the upper surface of the leaf to fold. very similar mine to P.hilarella.

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.

Recorded in 3 (4%) of 69 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1992.
Last Recorded in 2018.
