Local on heaths and bogs.
Larvae feed on Heather (=Ling), living and feeding in a distinctive black case made from silk.

Adult moths can be collected by sweeping over Heather, as with the related species found on Heather Coleophora juncicolella

If not recorded on foodplant then genitalia dissection is required.
