One of two members of the former Cosmiotes genus now recorded in Norfolk.
Elachista stabilella: frons and head white contrasting with the thorax. Elachista. freyerella and Elachista consortella: frons and head grey, appearing concolorous with the thorax.
Forewing dark with distinct white fasciae, however specimens can show less contrasting markings and are almost inseparable from other Elachista.
