Leaf-mine June-July. Sept-Nov. Variable mine, both highly contorted and parallel gallery often creating a false blotch.
DNA barcoding has revealed a species complex with two occurring in the UK. (Nieukerken, Mutanen and Doorenweerd 2012) The authors indicate that more research needs to be done on this complex.
