Local.
One of the most common coastal Gelechid being found virtually anywhere where Shrubby Sea-blite grows, sometimes in huge numbers. Can be disturbed easily in daytime.

Most saltmarsh inhabiting Scrobipalpa species S. salinella, S. obsoletella, S. instabilella, S. samadensis, S. suaedella are extremely similar and cannot be identified without genitalia dissection.
