Originally a native of Madeira, now resident in Hampshire through accidental introduction of the first British specimen in 1998. It is now one of the more common micro-moths in southern Hampshire.
Recent records from other counties include Essex, Kent, Sussex and Herts.
Likely to spread.
New to Norfolk in 2024 when a dead specimen was found in the bottom of a garden moth trap in Norwich. (P. Walton, 05/08/24)
