Scarce.
Found in dry areas, waste ground and dry ditches.

One of three species, Mompha divisella, M. jurassicella, M. bradleyi that are superficially similar and require genitalia dissection.

Old records from Merton, Norfolk, where a series was taken in Sept. 1894. All the specimens were in the Walsingham Collection, where they were found by J. D. Bradley in 1951. (Ent. Rec. 1951; Ent. Gaz. 1951)
