Norfolk status Scarce. Damp habitats such as marshes, fens, rough pastures, bogs.
Closely related to A. hartmanniana, and some authorities consider them to be the same species, with A. piercei being no more than an ecological form. Larger size and generally darker colouration than previous species.
Single Norfolk record from Marham Fen in 1998. A specimen was taken by day, and noted as being larger in size compared to A. hartmanniana also taken at the site.
Historic UK distribution maps show distribution in VC27 and VC28, no further info.
