Norfolk status
Widespread.
Purplish-bronzy wings with a silvery fascia.

Mines were collected on Ostrya carpinifolia (Hop Hornbeam) at Hoveton Hall Gardens in 2012. (S. Wright, 16.11.2012). This was a new host plant in the UK.

Leaf-mine: June - July. Oct - Nov.
The larvae create narrow, often angular mines in the leaves of Hazel and less commonly, Hornbeam.
Slender angular gallery, sometimes several larvae mining the same leaf.

Verification Grade Comment: Adults must be reared and/or Gen. Det. to confirm.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required
