Nationally Rare.
Discovered in 1961, occurring only in the Norfolk Broads with the existence of a colony at Hickling being confirmed by a number of sightings in the 1980s.
Old, dense, uncut reed-beds.
Regularly monitored by the Norfolk Moth Survey group.
This species appears to be spreading in recent years, with records from as far south as Strumpshaw Fen from 2015 and in 2019 unusual records from Filby, Gt. Yarmouth, Aldeby and a first for VC28 at Garboldisham!
Immigrant examples and presumed wanderers from the Norfolk colonies have also been recently recorded in Suffolk.Recorded in 14 (19%) of 74 10k Squares.
