Widespread Autumnal species.
Broad-leaved woodland, mature hedgerows, scrub, grassland, heathland usually on chalky soil.
Feeds at Ivy flowers and overripe berries at night.
Overwinters as an egg.

Name not to be confused with Bordered Sallow, which flies much earlier in the year.
