Rare immigrant in Norfolk.

A rare and local species, confined to the heathland areas of southern Dorset. Occasional migrants of the continental subspecies arenaria also turn up in southern England.

Priority species under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan

New for Norfolk in 2015, when a presumed migrant was recorded in east Norfolk at Ridlington VC27 (A. Mansfield, 03/07/15)
