Norfolk status
Scarce.
Local in mature Oak woodland and mature hedgerows, also appearing as a migrant.

After a gap of many years, several Norfolk records in 1999 with moths recorded on the coast and inland, thought to be part of a large immigration. Recorded annually but in low numbers in recent years.

The larvae feed on Oak, often preferring epicormic shoots, they are also polyphagous on various herbaceous plants. Larvae were found at Foxley Wood in 2012 (M. Young), interestingly this is where the species was first recorded back in 1873.

Adults are attracted to sallow blossom.
